Evanescence have returned with their sixth studio album, Sanctuary, and it has landed straight in at number five on the Official UK Midweek Charts. Released on 5 June via Music For Nations, the twelve track record arrives more than three years after the band last shut themselves away in a studio, and it carries the weight of that wait in every song.
Sanctuary was produced by Zakk Cervini (Bad Omens, Bring Me The Horizon, Spiritbox), Jordan Fish (Bring Me The Horizon, Architects) and Nick Raskulinecz (Deftones, Korn, Foo Fighters), a trio of names that hints at the scale and modern muscle of the record. It includes ‘Afterlife’, the multi-week number one rock song written for Netflix’s animated series Devil May Cry, alongside current single ‘Who Will You Follow’, which topped Billboard’s Rock & Alternative Airplay Chart and earned the band their first ever number one on the Hard Rock Song Chart.
“This album is over three years in the making,” said Amy Lee. “I am so damn proud of every second of it. Working on it has been my outlet for so much that feels wrong and out of control, and a place to ignite hope through the power of music and connection.”
The album comes in digital, standard CD, deluxe CD and limited box set editions, with a double vinyl pressing to follow on 4 September. The deluxe CD bundles a Blu-ray featuring the band’s Live in São Paulo concert and a documentary from their 2023 South American tour.
Evanescence bring Sanctuary to the UK in September for four arena shows, with Poppy and K.Flay joining as support.
September 2026 8th: First Direct Bank Arena
Leeds 10th: Co-op Live
Manchester 11th: Utilita Arena
Birmingham 13th: The O2 Arena, London
More than two decades on from Fallen, the connection Amy Lee built with fans shows no sign of fading. On this evidence, we think Sanctuary is the sound of a band still chasing the moment and certainly not coasting on legacy.
