New Drunken Swallows Album This April

Marking their 15th anniversary, Drunken Swallows are back on the road with their sixth album Im Namen des Wahnsinns, due on 19th April from Metalville Records, ahead of which comes their latest single, ‘Himmelblau’.

With ‘Himmelblau’  the four punk rockers show their more reflective side, but you can check that out via the video here at RAMzine.

According to the band: “The whole world is changing, mostly in a negative way, it seems to be in ruins. Where is the place where freedom is here and endless? Above the clouds, far away from all the human evil, where you learn to fly again because you have forgotten how to do it on the ground. “

You can check out the single here at RAMzine.

It follows the single ‘Hunderte Dämonen’, concerning which they commented: “There was a situation in which hundreds of demons stood in front of us. One of the most difficult situations in the band’s history. We stood together, we fell together and ultimately got up again together.”

With a change in bass players, the band now features Frank Hoffmann (Vocals & rhythm guitar), Henry Kreft (Bass), Pit Weidemann (Drums) and Dennis ‚DeeDxg‘ Lindner (Lead guitar) and the punk rockers present themselves with their now typical sound. Catchy guitar riffs, sing-along songs and lyrically a cross-section of life with all its facets.

Listeners are told to expect a mix of modern melodies and the dirt of the garage suits they’re known for, sing-along choruses and crisp riffs, but there are also gentle, serious, calm melodies in the form of ballads.

You can check that out yourselves via the video for ‘Hunderte Dämonen’ and previous single, title track, ‘Im Namen des Wahnsinns‘, here at RAMzine.

Tracks featured on the album are: ‘Im Namen Des Wahnsinns‘, ‘Hunderte Dämonen‘, ‘Hand In Hand‘, ‘Briefe An Dich‘, ‘Chaostage‘, ‘Solange Die Gläser Voll Sind‘, ‘420‘, ‘Für Mich‘, ‘Küstenjungs‘, ‘Nie wieder‘, ‘Himmelblau‘, ‘Mein Testament‘ and ‘Mein Zweites Ich‘.

Goosebumps, a thirst for beer, fun and the necessary seriousness in times when it was certainly not always easy to write a punk rock album. As Drunken Swallows once said themselves: “Weird times need weird birds. True, when you hear how life plays out in the name of madness.”
