Seahaven have released their new self titled album, out now via Pure Noise Records, alongside a new video for ‘Million Ways’.
The California band have been a fixture of the emo and alternative scene since forming in 2009, and Seahaven gathers the threads of everything that came before. Across 12 tracks, they pair deeply introspective writing with some of the most immediate hooks of their career, songs like ‘Hellbound’, ‘February Flowers’ and ‘Infinite Blue’ carrying real emotional heft alongside soaring melody, while quieter moments such as ‘Remember Me’ and closer ‘Companion’ sit with memory, loss and the fragility of life.
The record was written largely by vocalist and guitarist Kyle Soto, who began in April 2025 with ‘Wedding Bells’. From there the songs came fast. Working from his home studio, Soto often finished full outlines in a single night, following a creative flow he describes as letting the material arrive without overthinking it. “There’s been a lot going on in my life over the past couple of years that I’m sorting through,” he explains. “I wasn’t consciously trying to put it all into songs, but I’d sit down with a guitar to see what would happen, and I’d end up writing.”
Soto then brought the songs to guitarist Cody Christian, bassist Mike DeBartolo and drummer Eric Findlay, the four recording together at Pale Moon Ranch in Juniper Hills, California. The album was self produced and engineered by Alex Estrada, with Grammy winning producer Will Yip handling the mix and master.
