Review: Coathanger Abortion – Observations of Humanity

Coathanger Abortion ‘Observations of Humanity’ is out 2nd June 2015 via Comatose Records.

COATHANGER ABORTION formed in 2000 and have already established themselves as one of the most brutal death metal bands in the South East! Fans of Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse, Cephalic Carnage, Dying Foetus and Napalm Death should check this band out!

Coathanger Abortion totally live up to their name in Grinding fashion! Here is our track-by-track review:

Suffering the Weak

As expected this track is a pleasurable romp through a mind bending tirade of turbulent and emotive essences that greedily swamp the audial canal with bruising complacency. The vocals tantalise and secrete a brutal offering.

Media Mind Snare

This track houses a melodic core that vibrantly somersaults through its paces and embraces to the full. The full bodied rhythms are locked into a frame of increasingly devilish and unstoppable emotions.

Wading Through Existence

Grinding like no tomorrow this track is weighty and brutal, exposing an angular confrontation of acidic riffs and beats that are belched out under a vocal that oozes and seeps pure malevolence.

Prescription Paradise

The elixir here is rather intense and spawns a rather obnoxious flavour. Its grinding chugs are forthright and simply all consuming! with rigorous riffs expanding and brutalising with vehemence.

Coat-hanger Abortion

Superb name for a band as well as track title! The sampled voice says in a nonchalant tone “Before I kill you I am going to throw your baby out of the window!” So without further ado; the inviting intoxicating rhythms are nasty and smoulder with brutalising intensity. No surprises here what so ever!

coathanger abortionThe Possession

A sneaky predatory track looms larger than life, twisting with savage and snake-like deviousness. It is rampant persuasion that is levelled by an imposing groove that feistily kicks like a mule!

Audra Sleeps

Is a respite from the norm although I am not going to assume anything here, but alas it caught me out! This is one of the more subtle tracks the band have thrown in to catch the listener off guard.

Forget the Past

Back to the pounding savagery with its mesmeric qualities that empower its victims! Its core has a melodic edge that is extremely enticing and swelters on being irresistible!

Hypocritical Majority

The guitar screams out a malevolent shriek that is carried along on a heavy rhythm, angrily roaring through its tirade. It commands total attention and is dramatic as it breathes a quick fire intensity. Vocally damning and creates an impact at high velocity!

Detained Indefinitely

The sonic explosion of fast paced rhythms slice through the unwavering blast beats with exceptional attitude! Its infectious manner will no doubt have the blood racing in seconds.

Superb album! It simply ignites with demonic rabidity and grinding of its long dripping teeth out to consume and devour. It bubbles and secretes a venomous flow of unstoppable rhythms that won’t stop until every morsel has been cleaned by its vulgar tongue.

Damning and harsh the vocal element scathes brutally and swarms the senses in captivating fashion. I could listen to this album all day every day and never tire of its unending imagination that in turn sparks twisted thoughts and emotions through overpowering endeavour.

The crux of the matter is the album offers everything and more besides to fully engage in it. Embellished with a rampant malignancy and brutally harvested riffs it inspires, giving off lingering an emotive vibes that will have you ‘Fired-up’ in seconds.

One for the collection!
