The Lunar Keys have released their new single ‘Everything’, timed to land alongside June’s super moon. The Guildford four piece describe the track as “modern panic wrapped inside an alt rock anthem”, and it’s their second collaboration with Grammy winning producer and mix engineer Brendan Dekora, whose credits include Nine Inch Nails, Foo Fighters and Muse.
‘Everything’ takes aim at the kind of overstimulation that gets sold to us as empowerment: that pull to want it all at once, the restless adrenaline, the slow slide towards burnout dressed up as ambition. It’s summed up in the song’s own line: “Pick up your face, pick up your phone… Can you hear it coming?” The more we chase everything, the band suggest, the further we drift from actually having it.
There’s a generous streak running through the release too. True to form, The Lunar Keys are pledging to donate £1 to homelessness charity Shelter for each of the first 250 reviews or airplays ‘Everything’ receives, continuing a tradition of backing causes they care about with every release.
The band, made up of Dom on drums, Lexi on keys and backing vocals, JC on vocals and bass, and The Steve on guitar and backing vocals, have built a solid following on the strength of their live shows and previous singles, racking up hundreds of reviews, more than 600,000 streams and views, and over 7,000 plays across 475-plus radio stations including Planet Rock, BBC Wales, Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing, where five of their songs have been crowned Track of the Day. If you’re after a reference point, think The Police, Wunderhorse, The Killers and Foo Fighters, with The Lunar Keys‘ own brand of song built for big stages and crowd singalongs.
‘Everything’ is available to stream and download on all major platforms.
