Queen’s biggest hits are heading into orbit. On 29th May, the National Space Centre in Leicester hosts Queen Heaven, an audiovisual planetarium experience built around one of the most enduring catalogues in rock.
Set beneath the dome of the UK’s largest planetarium, the show pairs Queen’s anthems — including ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘Who Wants To Live Forever’ — with full-dome visuals using original footage, archival images and remastered concert clips, all delivered in surround sound. We really like the idea of ‘We Will Rock You’ echoing around a space dome while ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ sweeps across remastered concert footage above your head — it is a properly immersive way to engage with songs most people have heard a thousand times before.
The visuals were originally crafted over a decade ago, which gives them a nostalgic charm of their own. These are songs that have lived multiple lives across stadium tours, biopics, sporting events and karaoke nights, so seeing them reimagined for a planetarium dome feels like another natural chapter in the catalogue’s afterlife.
Beyond the show itself, ticket holders can explore the full National Space Centre site — the UK’s largest visitor attraction dedicated to space — including six interactive galleries, the iconic Rocket Tower, real spacecraft and a host of hands-on exhibits. The Centre opened in 2001, has welcomed nearly 6 million visitors (over 1.5 million of them school children), and was awarded national silver by Visit England for Large Visitor Attraction of the Year in 2025.
Whether you grew up on Queen or you are introducing them to the next generation, Queen Heaven offers a way of celebrating the band’s legacy that few other venues could match. Foot-stomping anthems beneath the largest planetarium screen in the country, every note designed to feel larger than life — it is hard to think of a more fitting setting for a band whose entire identity has been about scale.
Tickets are available now via the National Space Centre website.
